Ceistlicher Gespräche/über die Evangelia

The second follow-up part of the remarkable collection of spiritual compositions by the native of Most, Andreas Hammerschmidt (1611/1612-1675), published in Dresden in 1656. This is a very successful, luxuriously executed period print, corresponding to the social significance of its creator, who was particularly respected in areas significantly influenced by the Reformation ideas of Martin Luther (1483-1546). To this day, this collection has been preserved in various places in Europe, mainly in Germany (Berlin, Dresden, Halle, Zittau, etc.), but also for example in Belgium (Brussels), Austria (Vienna, etc.), Poland (Krakow, Warsaw, etc.) or Great Britain (London). Some copies can even be found in the United States. Although the full recognition of Hammerschmidt's work in the Catholic environment of his birthplace raises considerable embarrassment, this musical collection can also be found among the exhibits of the historical collections of the Regional Museum and Gallery in Most. The "Spiritual Conversations" you see before you are thus among the valuable items of this institution as well.
