DetailMost - the demise and rebirth

March 7, 2024

We invite you to the next lecture in the series PANORAMA OF OLD MOST:

MOST - DEMISE AND REBIRTH (Construction history of the old Most and the emergence of the new city)

on March 7, 2024, at 5 PM.

The city of Most disappeared from the surface of the Earth over eighteen years. Its demolition was officially decided by the Czechoslovak government in 1964, and the last buildings were demolished in 1982. During this time, everything that defined the historical, naturally shaped city was lost. Hundreds of buildings, some of which can be classified among exceptionally valuable monuments even in a nationwide context, all infrastructure, and the immediate landscape background. The listener's contribution will introduce the background of this unique experiment, whose economic return has never been quantified.

The speakers are Mgr. Lucie Radová and Mgr. Tomáš Brož from the National Heritage Institute in Ústí nad Labem.
