IMPERIAL PANORAMAS, PHENOMENON OF THE END OF THE BEAUTIFUL CENTURY

The lecture by archivist Jaromír Tlustý (SOA Litoměřice) on the forgotten phenomenon of the late 19th century, the predecessor of today's 3D cinemas. Panorama - a device for viewing stereoscopic images, was a pastime popular among all layers of society, as well as an educational school tool, as it allowed visitors to travel the whole world. The lecture will primarily present the so-called Imperial panoramas not only from a technical perspective but will also focus on their history, owners, and creators of the projected stereographies.

The lecture will take place on February 29, 2024, at 5:00 PM in the OMGM lecture hall.
